We are not asking for space.
We are building it.
BurnTerra is an emerging Canadian initiative working to secure land in the interior of British Columbia to establish a permanent, healing-centred sanctuary for transgender people. A place rooted in safety. A place built through solidarity. A place where our youth are mentored, our elders are honoured, and our existence is not debated — it is protected.
This is about permanence.
This is about self-determination.
This is about community that cannot be erased.
We envision intergenerational housing, elder support, youth mentorship, and shared gathering spaces where transgender people can organize, heal, rest, and lead. BurnTerra exists because survival is not enough — we deserve stability, dignity, and legacy.
Any future development will be pursued in respectful relationship with the St’át’imc Nation, honouring Indigenous sovereignty and responsible stewardship of the land.
BurnTerra is currently in formation. We are building governance, gathering community support, and preparing for nonprofit incorporation and charitable registration in Canada. What begins as vision will become foundation. What begins as foundation will become sanctuary.
We are not disappearing.
We are putting roots in the ground.
